Recently, I had a friend ask me, how many pizza toppings is too much? I told him, it is a subjective answer, as I have met people who enjoy just a cheese pizza and on the other hand, I have friends who order all the meat toppings possible on a pizza. This got me thinking, how much toppings should we order on a pizza and what toppings do Windsorites enjoy?
I reached out to our friend Professor Zaa (Dean Lister Armando Corporate Chef) and posed the question, how much pizza toppings should you order? He told me, “should be well balanced, pizza is like life, needs balance. Not too much cheese, not too much sauce, just the right amount of everything.”
Very much true, just with everything it’s easy to over complicate but it’s hard to simplify.
This led me to my second thought, what toppings are people adding to their pizzas? A recent study from Foodler, revealed 37% of people order plain cheese pizza, but thats probably due to the fact most cities can’t make a pie like in Windsor.
Foodler analyzed thousands of orders in the United States and Canada, and these were the top 10 pizza toppings users ordered.
- Extra cheese
- Black olives
- Green peppers
I wanted to compare this data with the top sellers in Windsor, so we contacted local pizzerias to find out what are their top sellers, here is what we found.
- Green Peppers
- Roasted Red Peppers
To no surprise, the Windsor classics lead the list, (Pepperoni, Mushroom, Bacon and Green Peppers). Did your favorite topping make the list?
